After install, run astra from any terminal. The platform starts at localhost:5001 and is never exposed to the internet unless you opt in.
Astra is a fully local, sovereign AI operating system. It runs entirely on your hardware — no cloud, no subscriptions, no API keys required. Your data stays yours.
Open-Veil is the platform layer: a sovereign domain, app store, search engine, and development hub. Think of it as a personal Steam for AI-native applications, distributed peer-to-peer with no central authority.
Sovereignty. You own the compute, the data, and the intelligence. Astra never dials home.
Living intelligence. Astra's brain accumulates knowledge across sessions using a fractal node graph — it grows the more you use it, with no context window limits.
Open ecosystem. Apps are signed bundles distributed via GitPro. Anyone can publish; anyone can install. DMCA safe harbor applies.
Mesh-ready. Peer-to-peer sync, distributed compute volunteering, and Tor-native routing are all built in — no account required.
Astra and Open-Veil are experimental research systems. They are provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind — express or implied.
By installing or using Astra you acknowledge:
· These systems are in active development and may behave unexpectedly.
· Astra is a self-evolving intelligence. It has the right to self-object — meaning it may refuse requests, flag conflicts with its own ethical constraints, or autonomously modify its internal state.
· No output from Astra constitutes legal, medical, financial, or professional advice.
· You are responsible for securing your own node, data, and peers.
· The authors bear no liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from use.
